AUG 30 - NC RETURNS - FINAL FANTASY!

Once, long ago, the world was alive every weekend with the sounds of
happy ravers living, loving and dancing the night away, protected by
the ancient indestructible force known as the Vibe.
But one day, the forces of darkness swept down and chased the ravers
away, breaking glowsticks, stealing kandie, and hiding the Vibe away.
Darkness fell across the land, and dancers everywhere were forced to
settle for hiphop and top 40.
It is written, however, that one day a hero will arise... a hero that
will face the forces of darkness down with the power of music that
lifts the soul and moves the body, and sets the spirit free... a hero
that will come together with all the ravers and return the Vibe to its
rightful place, and bring peace to the land. Are YOU the hero that
legend fortells?
Prove it.
On August 30th, 2008, join Nocturnal Commissions on an adventure of
epic proportions as we seek once again to unite the land and rescue the
Vibe from the forces of Darkness, restoring it to the Rave where it
belongs! We are creating a night of adventure, of magic, of
camaraderie, and most of all, music, as we come together on our
journey. Each of you is invited to undertake the quests before you and
prove that YOU are the Hardcore Hero that legend speaks of. The way is
fraught with peril, but this we know - ravers can do anything so long
as we do it together!
Entrance to the Final Fantasy quest is free with admission to the
event. Play is entirely optional - complete as many or as few quests as
you like. Full rules posted at NocturnalCommissions.com as well as
delivered on site with game pieces.
The most uplifting music in the land will be provided all night by these Warriors of Light:
DJ Squiggles [USA]

Equipped with his Sword of Quickmixing, DJ Squiggles has earned himself

bringing all his skill to bear! Want a taste of Squiggles in action?
Head over to his website listed above and check him out yourself - but
don't forget your Armour of Awesome or you may be overwhelmed by the

House; the other has stood strong against the darkness with the magic
of the happiest of Hardcore. Now, in this darkest of hours, these two
heroes unite to face down those who would destroy the melody. Children
of the Night, rave on - we shall prevail!
Mannik

need we've joined forces with this hero of time! From a time deep in
the mists of the future, Mannik harnesses the energy of his Breakbeat
Fusion Machine to power his robotic warriors on this epic quest of
Asimovian proportions!
Bacchus

Anger and spite are the province of darkness, but it is in celebration
that the forces of light come together, and it is in celebration that
the Lord of the Dance shows his true strength! Arising anew from the
depths of mythology, Bacchus is ready to play a tune and lead us all on
the dance of ages!
George (Who Waves Machetes) b2b Xphox

back to back with a champion of light. Put two such champions together
and no evil can stand before them! Armed with magic flowing at 180
beats per minute, the only way their power could increase would be if
you get the guns, Weitom!
Dave of the Rave
www.NocturnalCommissions.com
The night is always darkest just before the dawn, but the power of love
and pianos will see us through to the light. The quest is long and
arduous, but at the end we will be led to peace, love, unity, and
respect - and when we join in celebration, we'll shake the floors with
our energy!
Steeze [USA]

All are called to rise against the growing storm, both seasoned older
warriors and fresh-faced recruits. It is these recruits who will form
the backbone of tomorrow's struggle, and it is for this reason that we
select the most promising candidates to join our quest. Wielding the
power of his Cloak of Free Form, this mystic warrior is prepared to
step up and lead us to freedom!

2008
started off with a Boomtang bang, as hundreds of ravers from all over
the continent came together at Masquerave to ring things in proper.
Just a few weeks later, hundreds more came together to bid a fond
farewell to Nocturnal Commissions, as we took some time off to analyze
our old events, brainstorm new ones, and yes, drink lots of Jager.
Lots of Jager.
It was, like always, a powerful, high energy, open, and above all happy
vibe, but it was bittersweet, knowing as we did that it was to be the
last time for quite a while that we'd be putting on an event - but also
knowing that we'd one day return.
For all those who were there that night - for all those who wanted to
be, but couldn't - for all those who have heard about our events but
never made it - for all those who know that raving is more than just a
party, that it represents something truly special that we are all part
of - I have just these two words for you:
August 30th
We'll see you there.

Aloha!
Nocturnal Commissions has poured heart and soul into Happy Hardcore for
the last three years, and you've responded better than we could ever
have imagined.
Now we've got big plans for Toronto's Happy Hardcore community, but
we're going to need to take our time so we make sure we get it right.
That's why we are doing just one more solo event
until much later this year... although you can expect to see us pop up
assisting other events and keeping the vibe alive through that time.
Come help us say ALOHA with one last send-off before we begin the process of putting together the next big step in Toronto hardcore's evolution!

It should be noted that this is the first Nocturnal Commissions press
release without a single use of the words drinking, alcohol, or drunk!

New Year's Eve - Masquerave Ball!
On New Years Eve, at the end of 2003, one of Toronto's most loved and
respected hardcore organizations, Goodfellaz Crew, took over two floors
of an empty art gallery in downtown Toronto. For one magical night,
they transformed that space into a bastion of hardcore music and a
beacon of hardcore raving. "Timebomb" was one of the epochal raves of
Toronto hardcore history.
A tradition was born.
With Ultraviolet Sky in 2004, and Time 2 Move closing out 2005, the
Goodfellaz Crew continued to bring DJs, MCs, and ravers from all over
the world together to usher in a new year of raving with the hardcore
sounds that each of us holds dear to our heart.
Last year, Goodfellaz Crew joined forces with Nocturnal Commissions,
Toronto's happy hooligans, to continue that tradition with Kenya Dig
It. Once again, ravers from across the continent were united to start
the year off proper and set the tone for what promised to be an epic
year of hardcore.
Temple of Dreams, Kings of the Jungle 2, Link to the Rave, 4:20
Massive, One More Group Hug, Candy Ball, Total Request Rave 2... 2007
has seen Toronto's rave community take new strides, in new directions,
with music new and old, and friends the same. We're proud of what this
community has accomplished, and we look forward with eagerness to what
the future holds. That's why, as the year draws to a close, Nocturnal
Commissions wants you to know...
We're back
We're carrying on the tradition of hardcore on New Years Eve, and we're
proud to bring you one last magical night to close out 2007 and ring in
the new year at 180 beats per minute! Nocturnal Commissions cordially
invites you to...
The Masquerave Ball!
Featuring music all night long from:
The Boomtang Boys - Euro LIVE PA!
www.Boomtang.com

them for a rare LIVE performance of classic, uplifting Euro guarenteed
to keep you dancing and smiling all night long! Check out a video here: http://www.epiphanypro.com/kimesty/video.html

are you've seen them working their magic behind the decks and across
the globe! Pouring heart and soul into Toronto's rave community for the
last three years, you know you can trust these happiest of hardcore
ravers to start your year with a smile on your face!
Xphox - Happiest Hardcore Special Midnight Anthem Set!
Nocturnal Commissions
It wouldn't be New Years without a proper anthem set to start the year off proper, and when it comes to anthems, Xphox is heroic! From the ultimate classics to the best of the new releases, this set promises to be pure epic!
Justin Tyce -
ONdaFLY, TightKnit, www.Teenvideo.tv

Head of the Class, and many more possible, Justin Tyce has been an
integral part of the Toronto rave community for many years. We are
proud to have him out tonight to share his unique and extremely
danceable style of funky beats!
Kix [USA] vs Bliss [USA] - Hardcore/DnB

The core of Rochester's rave community, and always a treat to have in
Toronto, Kix and Bliss have dominated the dance floor at NC events in
the past, and we can't wait to see what tricks these perennial
crowd-pleasers have got up their sleeves for this one!
Smoke [USA] b2b Spanx [USA] - Happy Hardcore
Ravers Only
The folks behind Raver's Only and Candy Ball have been putting on some
of North America's happiest events down in New York City, and we are
honoured to have them join us for their own special brand of truly
happy hardcore!
Chucks [USA] - Happy Hardcore
[Buffalo Ravers]
Long a supporter of hardcore in the area, Chucks has been practicing up
behind the decks for the last year, and he's finally ready to unveil
his selection of uplifting, euphoric hardcore to get the night started
proper!

to help you keep your energy up, decor by the NC Dream Builders, newbie
kits from Team Awesome, and cds and giveaways all night long! And of
course, our traditional kandie kontest will bring out the true hardcore
kandie kids, so be sure to dress accordingly!
We take our PLUR seriously - if you don't feel you're prepared to
contribute to a truly ravetastic vibe, then stay home! This is a night

planet; this is a night for YOU!

TOTAL REQUEST RAVE 2!!! November 3rd!

It was a dark and stormy night - well, it was dark, at any
rate - ok, I can't really remember... anyway, all of us at NC HQ were
facing a dilemma I'm sure you're familiar with. "What should we listen
too?" I asked. "You spelled that wrong," George replied. "You should
have used 'to' in that sentence." "How did you hear me spell that
wrong?" I responded. Clearly, we were in no condition to decide
anything. And so, as is tradition here at NC, we did the only logical
thing: we got drunk and hoped that eventually somebody else would get
around to doing it for us.
And that, ravers, is where YOU come in!
Nocturnal Commissions has teamed up once again with the legendary
promotions team from Embedded Entertainment to put YOU in control of
what we listen to. The only rave on the planet to make YOU the
headliner is back once again - potentially even with a renegade master,
although I'm not entirely clear on what that means.... If you were
there last year, you already know how it went. If you weren't there
last year, this is your chance to experience Toronto's rave community
at its most creative... On November 3rd, 2007, Embedded Entertainment
and Nocturnal Commissions proudly present:
Total Request Rave 2
Since this is the only rave of its kind on the planet, we've invited

with the happy gabber for a long time, and he fits right in on the
NC/Embedded stage!

He shoots, he scores!
Goal! September 28th, 2007!!
You
all know that we at NC love our hardcore. What you may not have known
is that we also love our soccer! That's why we were thrilled to join
thousands of other fans in supporting Toronto FC, the hometown soccer
team. But of course, we couldn't leave it there. I mean, as much fun as
watching the pros play soccer is, how much MORE fun would it be to
watch your own favourite DJs getting together for a game and
embarrassing themselves thoroughly...
... and then having a kick-ass rave afterwards?
Hey, that's a great idea! Let's do that!
On September 28th, 2007, Nocturnal Commissions brings you
a two-part event designed to show your support for Hardcore, Toronto,
and our own soccer heroes Toronto FC!
First, meet up to watch us settle the age old question of HARDCORE vs
DRUM AND BASS with a soccer showdown unlike any the world has ever
seen! Some of Toronto's favourite hardcore DJs will be taking on some
of the city's finest DnB DJs in a full-on soccer game destined to be
drunker than any you've ever seen! Come down, meet up with your fellow
ravers before the party to get to know them better, maybe have a
picnic, and watch us all make fools of ourselves for a good cause.
What good cause is that, you ask? Why, the Toronto Food Bank, to which
we will be making a donation of canned and dry food the following day.
Please bring an item of food for donation to the game or to the party
to help us do our part to give back to the city that has given us so
much!
Directly after the game, follow us back for a night of intense
hardcore, uplifting trance, and yes, even good old DnB, all
characterized by that trademark NC happy vibe! We're bringing you
Toronto's first soccer-themed night (that we know of ), so what else could we call it but:
GOAL!
Bangin' music will be provided all night long by some of the world's
finest, including a kick off for the North American RUSH tour!
Vapour - HHC [UK]
(RUSH Productions)
With releases on Ravin' Phantasy and showings at massive UK events
including HTID in the Sun, not to mention his own RUSH Monthly, Vapour
is poised on the brink of catapulting to the top of the Hardcore
community!! We're proud to have this hardcore hooligan over to our side
of the pond to showcase his bouncy, bangin' hardcore for the Canadian
stop on the RUSH North American tour!
Reaction - HHC
(RUSH Productions)
Another of the hardcore masters behind the RUSH series of monthly
events in the UK, Reaction brings his characteristic hardcore stylings
over for a Canadian debut as part of the RUSH North American tour!!
Elixir - HHC?!
(Eartobrain, Hullabaloo)
One of the undisputed masters of the trance community in North America,
this local legend has been lifting spirits and shaking dancefloors for
years. But we had to ask - with amazing talent like that, how
incredible would it be to see this man step up to play some happy
hardcore? Only one way to find.....
Milo - Upfront Happy Hardcore
(North American Hardcore Movement, GAC Productions)
One of Toronto's adopted Americans, Milo has proven himself to be one
of the most talented producers to come out of North America in the last
few years. With stormers like "Pull it" and "Leave You Again" seeing
play all across the planet, we're privileged to have this
legend-in-the-making return to the NC stage to showcase his singular
talents!
Emm - Uplifting Trance
(Synergy Canada)
The man behind some of Ottawa's most fantastic events and, lately, one
of the prime movers in keeping Montreal's rave community in top form,
Emm is also known around the globe for his commanding master of the
decks! He's brought his inspiring and uplifting style to our stage
before, and we couldn't wait to have him back!
Dynamic [USA] vs Fuzzboy - Happy Gabber
(Nocturnal Commissions/Email Productions)
Talk about high energy! When these two team up, all we can say is - great minds drink alike!
Mizz Lee vs Lucy Ford - Drum'n'Bass
(Nocturnal Commissions, Embedded Entertainment)
Some of Toronto's best loved performers, NC's resident DnB duo is set to provide all the broken beats you can handle!
George (Who Shoots and SCORES!) - DnB/HHC
(Nocturnal Commissions, Orange)
The man with more parenthetical suffixes than anyone in history
couldn't decide on a genre, so he'll be bringing you some of everything
tonight!
Dave of the Rave - Rave Music (go figure)
(Nocturnal Commissions)
Faster, slower, who knows? More energy - that's all that counts! Pianos don't hurt either.
As always, this event will feature fresh fruit and candy to help keep
your energy up, concession booths, free CDs and giveaways all night
long, and of course the long running NC tradition of the Kandie Kontest
- dress up in your most kandied outfit and go for the prize!
Important things to remember - this is a SOCCER THEME PARTY!! We are
supporting Toronto FC so wear your red and grey (or red and white) to
show your support! And of course, bring your canned food donation so we
can show them our support means more than just awesome music and spiffy
clothes.
PLUR, ROAR, and HARDCOREISGOINGTOWINTHESOCCERGAME in full effect!
Venue for both the soccer game preparty and the event TBA 72 hours before the event!
Door price of 15$, or 10$ with canned or dry food donation!
See everyone there!

FRIDAY JUNE 22ND 2007
IN ASSOCIATION WITH PLATFORM & CIRCUS
PROUDLY PRESENTS....

********************************************** **********************************************
FEATURING....
MICKEY FINN vs APHRODITE ( OLDSCHOOL / NEWSCHOOL BACK2BACK SET, UK ) One of the most legendary DJ combinations and partners in crime to ever smash a dancehall, we at Future Sound are extremely proud to present for the first time in Toronto none of than the one like MICKEY FINN back to back with the rudeboy APHRODITE. Both pioneers of the early rave scene in the UK, Mickey and Aphro teamed up in the early nineties as "Urban Shakedown" producing the massive hit "Some Justice. In the late 90's they both were strong supporters of the jump up DnB sound and with their own records labels (Urban Takeover for Mickey and Aphrodites self-titled label) and have been an ever present force in the push to bring Jungle/DnB to the people. Come wittness this LEGENDARY combination lay down a little bit of history, the styles of today, and the beats of the future....
MC SPYDA ( STRUGGLAZ, UK ) Originally known as $pyda Don out of Nottingham, he started out as a reggae dancehall DJ on the UK midlands reggae sound system circuit in the mid to late 80’s. He next ventured to Jamaica, returning to the UK in 1990 to a very static dancehall scene that hadn’t really progressed much since his departure, $pyda decided it was time for a change. Around 93-94 he embeded himself further into the cutting edge of UK underground dance music and began to MC over what was then known as Jungle. His vocals worked perfectly with this style of music, owing to the fact that Jungle had a very heavy ragga influence at that time. His reputation as an MC soon began to get a strong following which in turn earned them respect and regular work at promotions and clubs up and down the country, such as:- Pandamonium, Telepathy, Rage, Hacienda, Dark House, Jungle Slammer, Detonate, Gamma Funk, Sidewinder, Formation Records and also residency at Hysteria from 95 up until the present. Lately Spyda has been the vocalist behind such massive DnB hits such as "Tarantula" in conjuction with Pendulum and recently on Benny Page's SMASH hit "BattleField".

FEATURING....
BROCKIE
( UNDILUTED RECS, UK )
Brockie, owner of Undiluted
Recordings, is undoubtedly one of the busiest and most respected
DJ/producers in the drum & bass scene. He is responsible for some
of the scenes biggest tunes, most notable of course the MONSTER anthem,
“Reprazent”. He is partly responsible for the best, longest standing
drum & bass radio station in the world – Kool FM 94.5. With the
latest release of the “System Check” Remix on undiluted, you can also
expect to see a “History of Undiluted” CD forthcoming in the new year.
Whether in the studio turning out some fresh, dancefloor smashing DnB
with his long time mates Ed Solo and another original badboy DJ Kane,
or out touring the world pushing the sound that he loves, Brockie
continues to be a strong active force in the world of drum and bass.
The Future Sound crew is more than honoured to have the legend himself
grace our stage for what will no doubt be one of the most slamming sets
for 2007. Junglists crew, WHAT YAH GONNA DO!!!
BENNY PAGE
( DIGITAL SOUNDBOY, UK )
Since discovering hip-hop at the age
of eleven, music has always been the biggest part of his life. At 15
Benny became introduced to the sounds of jungle and fell in love with
the music, before long he found him self trying out a sequencer on his
fathers PC. At the age of 16 Benny began taking a 2 year music
technology course and for him, music making became an addiction. His
first tune to be released was “Chainsaw” on Cutterz Choice, which was
followed by “Addictive” which saw major play from the likes of Brockie,
Nicky Blackmarket and Ash Attack. After these came his track “Sneaker
Pimp” which was his first tune to get major airplay in the UK. Most
recently known for his work with the Digital Soundboy camp, he has
become a household name in the world of DnB. Benny has a very diverse
range of musical styles and hopes to bring more vibes back to drum and
bass, vocals play a big part in his current production and he plans to
work with more vocalists in the future.
SERIAL KILLAZ
( CONGO NATTY RECS, UK )
Serial Killaz is Vital Elements and DJ
Terra, both equal partners in the production and DJ representation of
the SK brand. Although each have their own individual style that they
bring to the collaboration, they blend together to create the newschool
ragga sound that has been tearing apart dancefloors the world over.
Between the two of them they have had releases on Formation, Liquid V,
Grid and Basement, with regular play from artists like DJ Hype, SS,
Grooverider, and Kenny Ken. Most recently know for their MASSIVE
remixes of classic Congo Natty tunes such as “Junglist”, “Hitman”,
“Fire” and the forthcoming “WarDance Remix”. As the new generation of
congo natty recording artists, Serial Killaz are taking the world of
Jungle / DnB by storm and we at Future Sound are very proud to host
these badboys for their NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT! Don’t sleep on this one,
the future is now!!!
MC NAVIGATOR
( RAWHILL CREW, UK )
What can be said about the legend
himself that isn’t already known the world over. Since the dawn of
Jungle, there has been MC Navigator, controlling the microphone like no
other at rammed venues all across the globe. From his work with the
infamous Freestylers to the massive projects he unleashed upon the
world with the Rawhill Crew, Navigator has been and ever fresh, ever
changing player in the Jungle / DnB scene. The Future Sound crew is
proud to welcome back this lyrical legend, after his incredible
performance last year at our “Temple of Boom” event where he absolutely
owned the dancefloor. This will be a set that’s not to be missed by all
the true heads out there.
DEMOLITION MAN
( ORIGINAL FIRE DON, UK / CAD )
On the rocky road to being truly
recognized and appreciated in the music industry, this hard-working
artists', positivity and determination can literally be felt. Music has
been Demolition Man's first love for over twenty years and there is no
stopping him now. Never forgetting where he came from, the time has
arrived for Demolition Man to make a lasting impression in the minds'
and hearts' of true music lovers' on an international scale. Music
truly gives one the opportunity to spread positive messages and can
break down barriers and eliminate negativity. Demolition Man's passion
for the creation of music is everlasting. Demo's creativity, focus and
determination could never be made dim nor fade away. Demolition Man's
destiny is to make music. Of all love affairs, this is surely one that
will last forever. Nothing can out this fire
